Assis. Prof. Sun Huiyan’s paper “Stress-Induced Metabolic Reprogramming in Cancer” was recently accepted by Cancer Research, which is the Journal of American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), one of the top journals in the field of international cancer research, the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranking Q1, and SCI IF (2020) is 8.378. Zhou Yi, a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Bioinformatics at University of Georgia is the co-first author, and Prof. X, who is from University of Georgia, the Director of Cancer Systems Biology Center of Jilin University, and Adjunct Professor of our School, is the corresponding author.
Based on transcriptomics data and metabolic chemical reaction equations, this paper analyzes and explains the causes of metabolic reprogramming in more than 40 tumors, including Warburg effect, nucleic acid heavy head synthesis and sialic acid synthesis. This work combines the advantages of artificial intelligence, chemistry, biology and other interdisciplinary disciplines together. Other main collaborators include Zhao Suwen, a researcher at the iHuman Institute of Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Qu Zexing, a professor at the College of Chemistry of Jilin University, and Mao Fenglou, a researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
In addition, the paper “The bioinformatics toolbox for circRNA discovery and analysis”, Prof. Sun Huiyan published as co-first author, was accepted by the Journal of Briefings in Bioinformatics recently, which is a top magazine in bioinformatics and computational biology under Oxford Academic Press, the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranking Q1, and SCI IF (2020) is 9.101. Asso. Prof. Chen Liang from Shantou University, and Wang Changliang, a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Macau, are the co-first authors of this paper. Prof. Gary Wong from University of Macau is the corresponding author of this paper.
